As a Senior-level Product Designer, you will be working closely with clients, leadership, engineers, product managers, and project managers to create beautiful and valuable digital experiences. You will be leading projects from kickoff to completion, defining the problem, conducting research, exploring design solutions, and validating those decisions with users and stakeholders. You'll provide value by producing thoughtful work, soliciting frequent feedback, and collaborating well with others.
This is a senior-level position where you are expected to lead the design effort by being a proactive participant, defining the direction and workflow of tasks in as a part of a product or project team. A senior-level product designer
- Is a high-level performer with strong relationships and the ability to lead projects, and/or is a leading performer who enjoys managing projects.
- Has contributed to multiple shipped digital products and websites.
- Can bring clarity to ambiguity to extract requirements and priorities, and develop the process for anticipating and tackling a design problem using known methods.
- Is an excellent communicator and able to clearly communicate rationale, set expectations with teammates and stakeholders, and document open questions, decisions, and action items.
- Clarifies success metrics and ties efforts to delivering business value.Is an expert with best practices and common patterns, but able to uncover novel, unexpected solutions that go beyond best practices.
- Can lead one or more product areas (e.g., product page and purchase experience), and has the ability to connect them to a broader product vision (overall product ecosystem).
- Leads the delivery of shipped products and projects, and has delivered successful work.
- Develops and uses facilitation skills to engage cross-functional teams; Leading a team that's been given to you; defining the problem with cross-functional peers; mentoring contributor-level practitioners.
- Explores new patterns and practices, enhancing methodological toolkit; shifts from project planning to program planning.Develops problem-framing approaches, establishing new starting points that lead to new kinds of solutions, which affects strategic thinking, not just execution.
- Leading the solution of undefined problem spaces (e.g. “How can we reconsider how people look for and purchase items?").Storytelling and persuasion techniques build trust with partners and establish long-term relationships; comfortable communicating at all levels of the organization; demonstrates confidence and charisma.
- Uses an understanding of the impact and success metrics to focus their team's efforts; emerging understanding of broader organizational context and goals; connects team's efforts with a savvy grasp of ecosystems and organizational contexts; developing an ability to articulate a vision.
You have
- Led multiple shipped products and websites
- 5+ years of experience and a strong portfolio showcasing human-centered interaction design.
- Background within the entire product design cycle, from concept and ideation to research and validation through wire-framing and iterative client review cycles.
- An earnest desire to solve complex problems.
- A solid understanding of visual design fundamentals; typography, color, grid, space, and composition.Proficiency with Figma, Figma libraries, auto layout, and other relevant design tools and applications.
- Ability to prototype experiences using motion.
- Deep experience identifying, documenting, and presenting your concepts and rationale to stakeholders.Clear and concise communication skills.A self-motivated willingness to constantly learn and improve your craft.
- A collaborative and humble nature.The ability to change your working style between multiple types of contracts and clients (team-augmented, fixed deliverable, etc.).
